Choose Sunsama if you work mainly at a computer and want a guided daily planning ritual that pulls tasks from your work tools, such as email, Slack, Asana and Jira, into a calendar you timebox yourself. Its iPhone app is a companion to the desktop app. Choose Daytulo if you plan from your iPhone and want the app to fit your tasks around your calendar and deadlines for you, at $39.99 a year against Sunsama’s $204 a year on annual billing. Both work with Claude and ChatGPT through MCP, though what ChatGPT can do with Daytulo depends on your ChatGPT plan.

When Sunsama might be right
- You work at a desk all day. Sunsama has desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux and a web app, and its planning ritual is designed around them.
- Your work lives in many tools. Sunsama brings tasks from email, Slack, Asana, Jira, Notion, Trello, GitHub and more into one daily plan. Daytulo doesn’t pull from those tools.
- You want a deliberate ritual. A guided morning plan, weekly objectives and an end-of-day shutdown help you stop on time. If you value choosing every block yourself, that is Sunsama’s whole approach.
- Your team or IT department is involved. Sunsama offers shared workspaces, says it is SOC 2 compliant, and has an Enterprise plan with SSO and SAML.
- You want a long trial with no card. 14 days, with no credit card needed.
When Daytulo is the stronger fit
- You plan from your phone. Daytulo is a complete planner on iPhone. There is no desktop step before you can start.
- You would rather skip the ritual. Add tasks with a length and any deadline, and Daytulo works out where they go around your calendar. When the day slips, recalculate.
- Price matters. $39.99 a year in the US, against Sunsama’s $204 a year on annual billing.
- Your day mixes work and life. Daytulo is a personal planner that does not depend on work tool integrations.
- You use an AI assistant. Ask Claude, ChatGPT or Muse to read your plan, suggest a slot or add a task (changing tasks from ChatGPT needs a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise/Edu plan; see the ChatGPT guide). See also the Claude guide and the ChatGPT guide, or get Daytulo on the App Store.

Frequently asked questions

How much do Sunsama and Daytulo cost?
Sunsama Pro is $17 per person a month billed yearly ($204 a year) or $22 billed monthly, with a 14-day free trial and no credit card needed. Daytulo is $7.99/month or $39.99/year in the US, with a 3-day free trial.
Does Sunsama schedule my day automatically?
Sunsama describes itself as calm, human-controlled planning rather than an aggressive auto-scheduler, with AI assistance where useful.
